We created a proprietary platform which provides an easy solution for business owners and advisors to set up and manage 401(k) plans. And now, nearly 3,000 plans rely on our digital TPA platform as well as our comprehensive administrative services.

Founded in technology, fueled by collaboration

401KInABox is an independent third-party administrator dedicated to helping businesses offer their employees premier retirement benefits in compliance with IRS regulations. We created this new fin-tech solution in order to pass on a more efficient software paired with retirement industry expertise. Rather than leasing a software like many TPAs do, we are able to pass on cost-savings to our clients. The result is an easy set up and straightforward pricing thousands of plan providers enjoy.

Lee Bachu

Founder

  • Desiring best-in-class, expert-based, powerful, compressed administration, 401KInABox was birthed with the mission to provide the easiest 401k solution for advisors and their clients.Previously, Ms. Bachu was CEO of United Retirement Plan Consultants (URPC), a national TPA, from 2016–2019. While CEO, Ms. Bachu grew sales & profitablility to record levels, restored reputational excellence, and oversaw an industry-leading operational restructuring. URPC was acquired by Ascensus in 2019. She has been named Maryland’s Daily Record Circle of Excellence as a 3-time Top 100 Maryland Women selection. Ms. Bachu has been personally invited by the President of the United States multiple times to lead the prayer on National Day of Prayer.

    Ms. Bachu continues to be vibrantly active in her community. She is a member of the Council of Hindu Temples of North America (CHTNA), serves on the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington; The Governor of Maryland appointed her to the Maryland Commission for Women, a Maryland authorized body that guides anti-discrimination efforts and women’s issues through informed advice to the executive and legislative branches of the Maryland State Government.It is not often that we see game-changing technology from insightful expertise powered by a heart for the people. If we want a simplified platform entering our industry that can do it all, we want it made by someone who can do it all. You need to know this woman, unhindered by gender or minority standing.

Drew Tirney, C(k)P®, CPFA®, CRPS®

National Sales Manager

  • Drew’s professional retirement plan experience began in 2004. His extensive knowledge in the industry, primarily over the 17+ years he spent at Merrill Lynch as a Retirement Specialist, includes sales, service, strategy, and leadership positions.

    Now, as the National Sales Manager at 401kInABox since 2022, Drew leverages his skills to promote 401(k) plans, profit-sharing plans, and the more unique cash balance plans as well. Drew’s primary focus continues to be to revolutionize the TPA industry through technology, proficiency, and partnerships.

    Drew holds an MBA in Finance from Rider University and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Elizabethtown College. He’s earned industry designations such as the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist, Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, and Certified 401(k) Professional.

    A resident of Richboro, Pennsylvania Drew is a licensed volunteer soccer coach at Vereinigung Erzgebirge and passionate Philadelphia sports enthusiast. Most of all Drew enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and extended family at the Jersey Shore.

    With a passion for simplifying the business retirement plan experience, Drew Tirney continues to make a significant impact in the retirement plan industry.
